Welcome back Team Hill! It that time again, time for another blog post! This time it’s for all you poets and poetry lovers out there. For the month of April, our own library will be holding a Blackout Poetry Craft.
This event is in celebration for April’s National Poetry Month, which I didn’t know that. It was launched almost thirty years ago back in 1996 and it celebrates poets’ integral role in our culture and the poetry that matters. If you’d like to know more about it, you can check out their website at https://poets.org/national-poetry-month.
So, you might be thinking, well what kind of poem should I write? And frankly, that’s a hard question to answer. You have sonnets, haikus, elegies, etc. But if you want my advice, pick the one style you love the most and have fun. Or you could always do a free verse.
I hope that you have learned something new and are inspired to display your works in our library. If you need supplies, they have got you covered. I hope you all have fun and I can wait to see the poems you will all come up with. Until next time, I will see you guys later! Bye!
